     hamburger barley soup

Ingredients
2 lb hamburger
1 28 oz can tomatoes with juice
1 cup celery
1/2 cup celery tops (leaves)
2 tomato cans full of water
1/2 lb fresh green beans
1/2 of a green pepper, diced
salt and pepper to taste
2 teaspoons garlic
 
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 cup barley
2 carrots, sliced
1 large potato, diced

Instructions
brown hamburger in pot, drain if necessary. add everything else EXCEPT carrots and potato. cook one hour.
add carrots and potato and cook an additional 20 minutes.
