     French Breakfast Puffs

Ingredients
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
 
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup margarine or butter (melted)

Instructions
Heat oven to 350. Grease 12 medium muffin cups. Mix shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and the egg thoroughly in medium bowl. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg alternately with milk. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Immediately roll hot muffins in melted margarine, then in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Serve hot.
