     Bread and Butter Pickles

Ingredients
5 medium cucumbers
3 medium onions
1/4 cup salt
1 cup water
1 cup vinegar
1/2 teaspoon mustard seed
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon turmuric
1/2 teaspoon ginger
 
Instructions
Add salt to cucumbers and onions. Let stand 2 hours. Drain.
Heat vinegar, water, etc to boiling.
Add onions and cucumbers and boil slowly until tender.
Seal hot.
