For Sauce -
Mix together ¾ cup hot water, 1 cup brown sugar,
1 tsp vanilla, ¼ cup butter or margarine.
Mix together until sugar and butter is dissolved.
Add ½ cup shredded coconut or sliced toasted almonds (optional)and pour mixture on top of cake.
The cake will rise during cooking, the sauce will thicken and be on the bottom of the cake.
