Ingredients
fresh figs
sugar
water
baking soda
canning jars/equipment
 

Instructions
soak fresh figs in baking soda and water for a few minutes. Rinse in clear water. Remove stems.
For every two cups of figs, add one cup of sugar.In a large pot, measure figs, add sugar and enough water to almost cover figs.
Cook slowly for 3 hours over medium to medium-low heat. Stir occasionally.
Pour into sterilized jars. Seal and can in a boiling water bath.
