     Butterscotch Brownies

Ingredients
1/4 cup butter, soft shortening or vegetable oil
1 cup light brown sugar ( packed)
1 egg
3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
 

Instructions
Melt butter over loiw heat. Remove from heat. Blend in sugar, cool Stir in egg.
Measure and sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Blend into sugar mixture. Add vanilla and nutmeats.
Spread in a well greased 8x8x2 pan.
Bake 25 minutes at 350 DO NOT OVERBAKE. Cut into bars while still warm. Makes about 18 bars.
