     Nut Horns

Category   Desserts - Breads
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
3 cups flour
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg yolk (reserve white for filling)
1/2 pound butter
2 tablespoon cream
2 small packages cream cheese
FILLING

1 pound walnuts, ground or finely chopped
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons warm milk
1 beaten egg white

Instructions
COOKIE DOUGH - Mix flour, sugar and salt together. Blend butter, cream cheese and yolk. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Add the cream last. Refrigerate overnight. Roll into small balls the size of walnuts.
FILLING - Put walnuts in a bowl. Add warm milk and mix. Blend in sugar. Add egg white to mixture and blend. Poke a hole in each ball of dough, spoon in filling and reform dough around the filling and shape into crescent moon shapes.
Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.
NOTE- This is one of Mom's recipes that she scribbled on a piece of paper. She was a little vague about how to get the filling into the cookie. This method worked ok, but you may have a better way of doing it.
