Ingredients
6 cups nuts (walnuts, pecans, almonds) chopped very fine
1 1/3 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/3 cup sugar
1 lb unsalted butter
1 lb filo dough sheets
Syrup-
2 cups sugar
 
1 cup water
1 slice lemon
1 stick cinnamon
1/3 cup honey

Instructions
Mix well- nuts, cinnamon, cloves sugar. Melt butter.
Line 10 x 15 baking pan with filo sheets, brush with melted butter; repeat this process until 5 or 6 sheets line bottom of pan. Brush sixth layer with butter and sprinkle with nut mixture. Repeat until all ingredients are used. End with 6 or 7 pastry sheets.
Trim and cut into diamond shapes. Pour remaining butter over pastry. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. When pastry has browned to a golden color, cover with foil to prevent further browning.
While pastry is baking, boil syrup ingredients to form a thin syrup (20-30 mins). Let syrup cool and then pour over hot pastry when it has come out of the oven.
