     French Toast

Category   Breakfast - Brunch
Sub Category   None
Servings   2 to 4
Preptime   15 minutes

Ingredients
4 eggs
1/2 cup milk or cream
1 tablespoon sugar
a few drops of vanilla extract
dash of cinnamon
1/2 to 3/4 inch thick slices of challah
unsalted butter

Instructions
Heat an electric griddle to 350 degrees or put large flat frying pan on medium heat.
Beat eggs, sugar, and milk with a fork or whisk until blended and frothy. Add vanilla and cinnamon.
Put two or three tablespoons butter on griddle or in frying pan until melted and hot. Dip bread into egg mixture on both sides, and immediately place in hot pan/griddle. When one side is golden brown, flip over, adding more butter as needed, and cook until second side is golden. You may need to adjust the heat up or down if it browns too fast.
Keep warm in 250 degree oven if not serving right away. Best when eaten right after cooking. Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in a toaster.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with maple syrup and/or sliced fresh berries or bananas.
