Mix butter, flour, and pecans together in a bowl. Pat into a 9x13 pan and bake at 250 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
Combine cream cheese, sugar, and cool whip in 1 bowl. Prepare pudding as directed in a 2nd bowl. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding. Pour over crust.
Spread other half of cool whip over the mixture. Refigerate until set.
