Heat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder and salt
|

Cream shortening until smooth and almost white (about 5 minutes). Add 1/2 of the sugar VERY gradually, mixing until sugar is disolved before adding more-this creates the fine texture of the cake.

|
Beat eggs until thick and light and gradually add remaining sugar to egg mixture. Combine butter and egg mixtures and beat until light and fluffy.
|
|
|
Add a bit of dry ingreidients and then a bit of milk, alternating until all are added and make sure to add the final bit of dry ingredients last. Bake for 25 minutes.
