Pastry - Combine flour and baking powder in a bowl. Cut in shortening. Add beaten eggs. Add enough milk (start with 1/4 cup) to make a stiff dough. Roll out on a floured surface and cut into saucer size circles.
Make a roux with flour and shortening. Add beef, sausage, and onions, and seasonings and cook until browned. Drain and allow mixture to cool.
Add mixture to pastry. Fold pastry in half and crimp edges with a fork. Bake in oven or fry in vegetable oil.
