     Maryland crab soup

Ingredients
1/2 of a 2 lb smoked pork shoulder butt roll. cut in pieces (cut off most fat)
1 lb backfin crab meat, shells picked out
2 pounds frozen mixed veggies (corn, peas, carrots)
1 15 oz can tomatoes, cut in pieces, do not drain
1/4 lb bacon, fry off most fat but not crispy
2 stalks chopped celery
1 small carrot peeled and sliced
2 med potatoes peeled and chopped
a few cabbage leaves chopped (not too many)
 
1 tsp thyme leaves
1 T parsley
salt to taste
old bay to taste

Instructions
Fill 4 quart pot halfway with water, add ingredients listed above. Simmer while adding ingredients. Then fill to top of pot with water.
Simmer all day. Freeze leftovers!
