     Raisin Bread

1 pkg yeast
1/4 c warm water
2 C milk
1/2 C butter
1/2 C sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg
6 1/2 C flour
1 1/2 C raisins

Sprinkle yeast over warm water and set aside
Scald milk and add butter - Pour into mixing bowl and cool. When cool add sugar, salt, and well beaten egg and rasins. Next add yeast and part of the flour - Beat well.
Gradually add remaining flour and kneed 5 minutes - place in buttered bowl, brush top with mealted butter and cover. Set in warm place to rise double in size. Kneed again for a few minutes and let rest @ 10 minutes.
Divide dough into 2 loaves. Place in warn area to rise double in size. Bake at 350 about 40 minutes.
