Category   Appetizers
Sub Category   Gameday-Tailgate
Servings   Makes 40 Balls
Preptime   30-40 minutes
Wine/Beverage
Recommendations
  Beer

Ingredients
1 lb. favorite hot/spicy GROUND SAUSAGE
1/2 cup ITALIAN BREADCRUMBS
1/3 cup fine-diced RED ONION
1 beaten large EGG
CORN OIL - 1/4 inch deep
18 oz. Sweet Baby Ray's Original BARBEQUE SAUCE
(optional) GRATED PARMESAN

Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine sausage, breadcrumbs, onion, and egg. Mix and squish together well (like making a meatloaf). This will be very sticky - Do Not Add Water!
Heat oil on medium in large frying pan. Also, heat bbq sauce on low, stirring, then remove from heat.
Pinch off meat mix and roll in your hands, making balls about the size of cherry tomatoes. Prepare all balls before cooking any. Cook in batches of ten, rolling constantly and methodically until dark golden brown all around. (Use a slotted spoon rather than a spatula). Place on paper towel-lined plate, pat dry, and stir into sauce before doing next batch. (Check the largest in each batch for doneness).
When all are done, place balls on two dinner plates, skewer with multi-colored toothpicks and sprinkle one of the plates with parmesan.
Serving Suggestions
Try serving along with Sharp Cheddar Cheese cubes.
