Cream shortening and sugar. Mix well, add eggs one at a time,add vanilla and almond flavoring. Sift dry ingredients together and add gradually to cream mixture. Mix well.

Spread batter in sprayed 11 by 17 pan. Save at least a cup to dab over top. Put pie filling on top of batter here and there. Spread the rest of batter in small islands over top.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min. Cool
|

|
|
Mix powdered sugar with crisco. Add milk to get it the right consistency. Add vanilla,mix well. Spread on bars lightly.
