     Bread Pudding w/Bourbon Sauce

Ingredients
1 lb. French Style Bread (firmer is better) can use leftover bisquits or sliced bread
3 1/4 C. milk
3 eggs
2 t. vanilla
3/4 C sugar
1/4 t. cinnamon
1/4 C chopped pecans (more if desired)
1/4 C. raisins (optional
 
Bourbon Sauce
1 C. sugar
6 T butter
1/2 C. buttermilk
1 T. bourbon (more if desired)
1/2 t. baking soda
1 T white corn syrup
1 t. vanilla

Instructions
Tear bread into pieces. Add sugar and cinnamon. Mix milk, lightly beaten eggs and vanilla. Add to bread mixture. Place 1/2 of mixture in casserole. Layer pecans & raisins, if used. Top with the rest of the mix. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until lightly brown.
Bourbon Sauce Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan bring to a boil for one minute. Serve warm over bread pudding.
