6 large apples, peeled, sliced thin

1/2 c sugar

1/2 tsp nutmeg or cinnamon (I prefer cinnamon)

1 c flour

1 c brown sugar

1/2 c butter

Instructions |

|
Preheat oven to 325F. Grease 8x8 baking pan. Spread apples evenly in pan. Top with sugar and sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon.

Mix together flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until mixture is crumbly. Spread over the apples.
|

|
Bake 1 hour. Serve with ice cream or Cool Whip
|
