Cream butter and sugars.Beat in oil, eggs, and vanilla.Add flour,
soda, cream of tartar and salt. Chill for several hours. Drop into
balls in size of a walnut. Press flat with a glass dipped in sugar.
Bake 10-15 minutes at 325.
