     Tex Mex Turkey Chili

Ingredients
2 TB vegetable oil
2 lb. lean ground turkey
1 large bell pepper (chopped)
2 jalapeno peppers (chopped w/seeds for heat)
1.5 cups of onion (chopped)
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
salt & pepper to taste
1 large (28oz.) can of tomatoes puree
1.5 cups of tomatoe sauce
 
2 cans (15 oz. each) of kidney beans (drained & rinsed)
1/4 cup of GF beef or chicken broth
2-4 TB of brown sugar or honey
2 envelopes McCormick's Tex Mex chili mix
dash of cayenne pepper to taste
shredded Monterey Jack or Mild Cheddar cheese
sour cream

Instructions
Heat oil in large pan. Brown ground turkey, then drain fat.
Add all remaining ingredients (EXCEPT- cheese & sour cream) into crock pot.
Add cooked & drained ground turkey to crockpot & stir well, to blend all ingredients.
Cook on low for 3-4 hours. Add toppings (shredded cheese & sour cream) to taste. Can cook on high for half the time, or cook on the stove for 45mins.-1 hour on medium heat.
Serving Suggestions
Can serve chili in a bowl with toppings, OR on top of GF macaroni noodles with toppings (for a more filling meal). Can add grilled hot dogs for twist
