     Coorg Pork Curry

Ingredients
2 ponds pork meat including some fatty pieces cut into 1-1 1/2 inch pieces
2 teaspoons Tamind paste
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red pepper (chili) powder
1 inch piece ginger
5-6 cloves garlic
5 small green chillies
1/2 red onion
 
1 teaspoond black peppercorn
5-6 one inch cinnamon sticks
6 cloves
2 teaspoons cumin seeds
2 teaspoons coriander powder

Instructions
Mix pork with turmeric powder and chili powder. Marinate for 30 min.
In a pan roast the dry spice mix for a few seconds and mix with the wet spice mix. Add to the marinated pork and mix well.
In a cooking pot boil 2 1/2 cups of water, add marinated pork mix, stir, cover and cook until pork is well cooked, 30-45 min.
After about 20 min add 2 tsp of Tamarind paste and mix well. Add salt to taste. Continue to cook until pork is tender and close to dry - check with a fork. Serve with rice.
