     Red Velvet Cake

1/2 Cup Shortening
1 1/2 Sugar
2 Eggs
2 oz. Red Food Coloring
1 Tablespoon Vanilla
1 Cup Buttermilk
1 Tablespoon Vinegar
2 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
2 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
3/4 Teaspoon Salt
3/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda

Combine- Shortening,Sugar,Eggs,Vanilla,cream well, then add Buttermilk and vinegar and mix. Carefully add the 2oz. bottle of Red Food Coloring and mix.
In a seperate bowl combine Dry Ingredients- Flour,Cocoa Powder,Baking Soda,Salt. Stir with whisk.
Combine Dry Ingredients into the Creamed Mixture and stir till well combined. Grease and Flour 2 Round Cake Pans or 1 9x13 Pan. Pour batter into Pan and Bake ate 335 degrees.
Once cake has cooled Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting. 6oz. Pkg. Cream Cheese(softened) 2 Tablespoons of Milk, 5 Cups of Powdered Sugar, 1 1/2 Teaspoons Vanilla.
