     Indian Fry Bread

2 1/4c. flour
1 1/2t. baking powder
3/4c. plus 1T. warm milk
Vegetable oil

Mix flour, baking powder and milk. Gather dough into ball. Knead lightly on floured board until smooth (3-4 minutes). Cover with bowl. Let rest for 30 minutes. Divide dough into 8 equal parts. Keep well covered at all times. Dough dries out quickly. Shape dough into balls and roll or pat into circles on lightly floured board. Heat oil (1.5 inches) in large skillet to 375F. Fry circles 1 at a time in hot oil until brown (about 1 minute per side). Serve warm.
