     Brownies - Candy Cane

6 T unsalted butter
6 oz chocolate
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
3/4 c flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 packet Oreo cookies and cream pudding
2 T chocolate syrup
2 C powdered sugar
4 T butter softened
1 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
1 T milk
red food coloring
6 oz(about 1 cup) semisweet chocolate(or dark)
6 T butter

Mix flour, salt, and baking powder and set aside. Mix sugar, vanilla and eggs together until pale yellow- about 4 minutes. Melt cocoa, butter and chocolate over pot of boiling water(double boiler). Once melted, set aside to cool for a few minutes.
Mix chocolate mixture into sugar mixture. Gradually add flour mix and blend until combined. Add pudding mix and chocolate syrup.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean in a greased 8x8 pan. Allow to cool completely before continuing with frosting.
Beat butter, sugar, extract and food coloring. Gradually add milk by teaspoonful until desired texture is reached. Spread on cooled brownies and put back in refrigerator. Melt chocolate and butter and allow to cool slightly. Spread quickly over icing. Sprinkle with crushed candy canes. Allow to set in fridge.
