Preheat oven 325 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan. In a large bowl, mix together 1 cup of white sugar and 1/2 cup of butter until smooth. Beat in the eggs, then stir in vanilla and chocolate syrup. Combine the salt and flour; mix into the batter just until blend. Bake for 25 minutes.
