Cut the tenderized round steak cut serving pieces. Dip in “Dixie
Fry”, then dip in beaten egg to which a small amount of water has
been added, then dip in “Fry” again. (you may also use
flour, egg, then cracker crumbs, but the “Dixie Fry” is better)
Brown meat in a fry pan and season with salt, pepper and garlic.
Place browned meat in a baking dish.
In the fry pan drippings sauté several sliced carrots, 1 bell pepper
sliced, 2 onions sliced, 6 small zucchini squash sliced and fresh
mushrooms sliced. Add 1 large can of stewed tomatoes, 2 cans
tomato sauce, 2 cans water, salt and pepper to taste.
Simmer 30 minutes then pour over meat, cover with foil tightly and
bake at 325 for 2 hours.
