     Brussel Sprouts Chinese Style

Ingredients
1 lb fresh brussel sprouts, cut in half
2 tbsp olive oil
3/4 c chicken broth or water
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp cider vinegar
red pepper flakes (optional)
 

Instructions
Heat oil in pan and cook sprouts and salt until browned 5-10 min. Add ½ c of the stock and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer with lid slightly open 10 min., or until sprouts are tender and liquid is gone. Add the rest of the stock, sugar, and vinegar and cook until liquid is reduced to a syrup about 5 min. Add red pepper flakes.
