4 cups white bread cubes (1/2 loaf of bread) ) STALE BREAD
1/3 cups fat-melted (butter and shortening combo)
¼ cup onion- minced
½ cup celery- chopped
2 tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
1 tsp each- sage, thyme, poultry seasoning
chicken broth ?
NEED TO TRIPLE RECIPE FOR TURKEY DAY
Instructions
Heat fat over med heat. Add onion and cook till
yellow. Add seasonings. Add 1 ½ cups of bread
cubes, stir in. Add mixture to rest of bread, then
mix in celery. If mixture is dry add chicken broth.
Makes 1 quart (12 pound turkey usually requires
3 quarts)
Can be made ahead but DO NOT stuff bird until
ready to go in oven!!!
