1C. Flour
1C. Yellow cornmeal
2/3C. white sugar
1tsp. salt
3 1/2tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1C. milk
1/3C. vegetable oil

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
butter and sugar 9 inch Pyrex dish.
In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt and baking powder. Stir in egg, milk and vegetable oil until well combined.
Let batter sit for 5-10 minutes. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
