     Chicken & Dumplings

Ingredients
10 cups chicken broth
1 1/2 pound chicken breasts
2 carrots
2 celery stalks
1/2 small onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
 
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons butter
3/4 cup buttermilk

Instructions
Bake chicken.
Cook vegetables in broth until tender. Add flour to thicken. Add salt, pepper, thyme, basil, vegetables, and chicken. Simmer.
Prepare dumplings. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk. Drop by rounded spoonfuls into simmering stew. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes. Cover and cook for 10 minutes until dumplings are tender.
