you can really put what ever filling in there you wish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400. work shortening into flour.
add water to make it softer than pie crust.divide
dough and roll each piece to the size of a dinner
plate.
chop meats and vegetables and mix together. place
some of filling on half of rolled out dough add a
little butter and salt and pepper. close the dough
around it and make a heavy seam. Cut a one inch slit
on top of pasty
put on a cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour.
15 minutes before done baking put a small amount of
mixed milk and melted butter, to make it more juicy.
