Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut squash in half
lenghwise (cut off stem). Remove all seeds with
spoon. Prick skin with fork or knife all over.

Line a 9X13 inch cake pan with aluminum foil. Add
about 1/4 cup water to pan. Place squash cut side
down in pan.

|
Bake 40-45 minutes or until tender. Test with form
to be sure squash is well done.

|
|
Remove from oven. Scoop out flesh while still very
warm. Add butter and salt and pepper to taste and
mash well. Can be reheated or frozen
|
