Combine flour and baking soda. Set aside. Combine butter, sugar, vanilla, and pudding mix. Beat until creamy. Beat in eggs and beat well, gradually adding flour mixture. Stir in chips. Drop dough on cookie sheet. Bake until light brown at 350 degrees.
