     Sunrise Biscuits

Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
 

Instructions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Spray a nonstick baking sheet with vegetable cooking spray. Set aside. In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. using a pastry blender or two knives, cut in butter until coarse crumbs form. Stir in buttermilk until soft dough forms. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to a 1/4 inch thickness. Using a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits. Re-roll trimmings; cut out more biscuits. Place on prepared baking sheet.
To prepare glaze- Combine 1 egg white and 1 Tablespoon water. Brush glaze over tops of biscuits. Bake until golden, about 12 to 15 minutes. Transfer biscuits to a wire rack to cool slightly, serve warm.
