In a medium bowl, beat softened butter with hand-held electric mixer at low speed until creamy.

Add 1 cup confectioners sugar and 1 tbsp of milk. Beat at low speed. Scrap bowl/beaters with rubber spatula.

Add 1 cup of confectioners sugar and vanilla. Beat at low speed and then increase speed to medium-high until fluffy.
|
|
|
Add remaining milk for a smoother consistency-the less milk the more stiff and the more milk the more runny.
