Preheat oven to 350. Butter a casserole dish & layer the potatoes, salt & pepper, Velveeta, butter & cheese ending with the potatoes as top layer. Pour milk over the whole thing. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over top. Cook covered with foil for 50 minutes, uncover & cook 10 minutes more or until cheese is golden brown. This goes well with all kinds of meals. Especially my chicken & peppers. I really do love to make these potatoes instead of a box mix.
