     VINEGAR DUMPLINGS

Ingredients
2 c water
3/4 c sugar
2 eggs(well beaten)
1/2 c vinegar(or to taste)
1 1/2 c flour
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp shortening
1/4 -1/2 Cup water (or more to make dumplings drop from spoon)
 

Instructions
Get first 4 liquids hot stirring constantly to keep eggs from cooking separate. Drop dumplings by spoon into liquid & cook done. Mom (Gertrude) made these as a special treat for lunch for us. We really liked them.
