     Pastry for a 9 inch Double Crust Pie

Ingredients
2 1/4 cups sifted flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup vegetable shortening
6 Tablespoons ice water
 

Instructions
Combine flour, and salt in a medium sized bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or fingertips until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle water over mixture, 1 Tablespoon at a time, mixing lightly with a fork, just until pastry holds together and leaves side of bowl clean. Gather dough together in a ball; wrap in waxed paper; chill.
