Mix fat & sugar in a large bowl. Add egg & beat well. Add rest of ingredients & mix well. Drop dough from a teaspoon on a greased baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 15 minutes until lightly browned. Makes about 3 doz cookies.
For chocolate cookies- Mix 1/4 c cocoa into cookie dough with rest of dry ingredients. Add 1/4 c milk.
