     Broiled Butterscotch Frosting

Ingredients
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 cup chopped nuts
2 Tablespoons milk
 

Instructions
Mix brown sugar, margarine and nuts; stir in milk. Spread frosting over warm 13 x 9 inch cake. Set oven control to broil or 550 degrees. Broil cake about 5 inches from heat until frosting bubbles and browns slightly, about 3 minutes. (Watch carefully - frosting burns easily). Frosts a 13 x 9 inch cake.
Broiled Cereal Frosting- Substitute 1/2 cup whole wheat flake cereal for 1/2 cup of the nuts and increase milk to 3 Tablespoons.
Broiled Coconut Frosting- Decrease nuts to 1/2 cup; add 1 cup flaked coconut and increase milk to 3 Tablespoons.
