     Brown Sugar Drops

Ingredients
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup buttermilk or water
1 egg
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
light brown glaze (recipe belows)
 

Instructions
Mix brown sugar, shortening, buttermilk, and egg. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until almost no indention remains when touched, 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet; cool. Spread with light brown glaze.
Light Brown Glaze- Heat 1/4 cup margarine or butter in 1 1/2 quart saucepan over medium heat until delicate brown. Stir in 2 cups powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Stir in 1 to 2 Tablespoons milk until smooth.
