Preheat oven to 350. In a large cooking pot, boil potatoes with skins on until tender, drain. Cut potatoes into chunks. Prepare a 13 X 9 casserole dish by greasing it. In a large bowl, combine cooked potato chunks, ranch dressing, bacon bits, cheddar cheese and salt. Pour into casserole dish and bake for 20 minutes.
