Sift flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt together. Add milk and well beaten eggs. Grate onion into mixture. This should form a rather stiff mixture, stiff enough to shape into balls. Drop from a spoon inot hot, deep fat, adn cook at moderate speed until the balls are a golden brown. Balls about 1/2 to 2 inches in diameter are a nice size. They may be cooked in the fat used to fry fish and are served with fried fish.
