Bring to a boil, butter/margarine, cocoa and water. Place sugar and flour in a bowl; add the cocoa mixture. Add buttermilk with soda and the beaten eggs alternately with 1 teaspoon vanilla. Bake in a greased and floured pan of your choice for 25 minutes at 400 degrees.
Bring to a boil, butter/margarine, cocoa, milk, powdered sugar and pecans. If too thick, add enough milk to make right consistency. Ice cake while still warm.
