     Topsy Turvy Apple Pie

Ingredients
1/4 cup margarine softened
1/2 cup pecan halves
1/2 cup brown sugar
Plain Pastry for 2 crust 9 " pie
5 large tart apples, peeled and sliced (about 6 cups)
1 Tbs. lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbs. flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamin
 
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Instructions
Evenly grease bottom and sides of pie plate. Press pecans rounded side down on bottom of plate. Pat brown sugar evenly over pecans. Roll out pastry for bottom and place in pie plater over the pecans and sugar. Sprinkle sliced apples with lemon juice. Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a dash of salt. Toss mixture with apples and turn into pie plate. Spread apple mixture evenly. Roll out remaining pastry and place over apples and seal the edges. Prick top of pie with fork. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake for 50 minutes. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes. Place serving plate on top and invert pie and carefully remove pie plate. Serve warm or cold.
