     Martha's Pound Cake

Ingredients
1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks)
1/2 cup shortening
1 tsp lemon extract
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3-1/2 cups sifts plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
 
1-1/4 cup milk

Instructions
Cream butter and shortening with sugar with hands. Add extracts. Add eggs one at a time and blend with mixer. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together three times. Add milk and flour to creamed mixture a little of each at a time. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 300 for an hour. Then at 350 for 45 min.
Ice with Caramel Icing.
