     Baked Tofu Cubes

Category   Appetizers
Sub Category   Vegetarian

Ingredients
1 package firm tofu
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 T maple syrup
2 T catsup
1 T apple cider vinegar
1 T toasted sesame seeds
1/2 tsp liquid smoke
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Dash hot sauce

Instructions
Remove tofu from packaging, place it in a colander in the sink. Put a plate over it and set something heavy like a pot of water, on top of the plate for about half an hour. This is to press out the moisture.
Add all the remaining ingredients to make a marinade. Cut the drained tofu into 1/2 inch cubes. Allow about fifteen minutes for it to soak in the marinade.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Place tofu cubes on a cookie sheet and bake for about fifteen minutes. Turn the cubes over and bake for another fifteen or twenty minutes.
Great cold with a salad or warm over pasta. Can be used in many ways. It's nice to have some in the fridge for an easy last minute meal.
