Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Set out a large ungreased baking sheet. Bring water to a boil. Add salt and nuts and boil 3 minutes. Drain well and spread evenly on baking sheet. Toast nut meats until lightly browned, stirring often, 12 to 15 minutes. Turn out onto brown paper use immediately in Raisin-Nut Sauce or cool thoroughly and store in an airtight container for later use.
