Combine cucumbers, onions, pickling salt and garlic. Ad 2 inches of cracked ice. Cover and refrigerate for 3- 12 hours. Drain mixture and remove garlic.
In kettle combine sugar, vinegar,mustard seeds, turmeric and celery seeds. Bring to a boil, add cucumber mixture and liquid in hot sterlized pint jars. Boil in hot bath for 10 minutes.
