     Basic Corn Bread

Ingredients
3/4 C flour, sifted
1 T baking powder
pinch of salt
1 1/4 C yellow corn meal
1 C milk
1 T honey
1 egg
3 T melted butter
 

Instructions
Heat the iron skillet or muffin tins in the oven at 425F before pouring in batter in order to improve texture.
Mix the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients separately. Combine, stirring, a few times to moisten batter thoroughly. Pour batter into hot skillet, and bake for 25 minutes in 425F oven. Using an iron skillet may shorten baking time compared to muffins.
